And, if so, does it matter what kind?” If this describes you, you’ve arrived at the correct place. Though air fryers work similarly to other kitchen machines that quickly heat food, they aren’t always the greatest option when using a container. There are, however, air fryer-safe container options available. Do you want to know what they are? In today’s post, we’ll go deeper into this subject.

What Can You Cook with an Air Fryer?
In your air fryer, you can utilise a variety of containers.
Before listing them, keep in mind that you may not need to use a container every time you air fry something. The vast majority of products that can be air fried can be done so utilising the air fryer frying basket.
The frying basket is an air fryer device that allows air to circulate and uniformly cook food from all sides. Using a container may or may not obstruct this procedure, therefore I recommend using one only if you really have to.
But, returning to the main issue, what kind of container can you use in your air fryer? Ceramic, steel, glass, silicone, and aluminium can all be used in air fryers. Simply put, if it can go in the oven, it can probably go in an air fryer.
However, there are some items that I would not advocate using in an air fryer. Are you curious about the nature of these materials? Continue reading for more information!
Can You Use an Air Fryer with a Plastic Bowl?
No.
Remember that anything that isn’t already oven-safe should not be placed in an air fryer. Plastics are not oven-safe since they will melt and make a mess. This can be a fire hazard, and plastic may get up in your meal.
Not to mention the time and work it would take to scrub your oven clean; assuming it is salvageable at all!
Plastics cannot be used in an air fryer since it acts similarly to an oven. Plastics, like those found in ovens, might melt and end up in your food, and may even prevent your air fryer from performing correctly in the future.
As a result, it’s advisable to avoid using any form of plastic in your air fryer.
Is it Safe to Cook with a Paper Bowl in an Air Fryer?
Most types of paper should not be used in an air fryer. Because most paper-made goods aren’t oven-safe, it’s safe to presume they’re also not air fryer safe.
Always exercise caution when putting paper in the oven, microwave, or air fryer because it can catch fire.
Can You Use an Air Fryer with a Ceramic Bowl?
You may be wondering if using a ceramic bowl in an air fryer is safe. What is the conclusion? Yes! Ceramic bowls are completely safe to use in an air fryer. In fact, some cooks prefer to air fried meals in ceramic bowls because they believe it helps the heat distribute more evenly.
Whatever the case may be, most oven-safe ceramic dishes are air fryer safe.
Can I Use an Air Fryer with a Steel Bowl?
Yes, as long as your steel bowl is labelled as oven-safe, you should be fine using it in an air fryer.
Also, make sure the steel bowl fits inside the air fryer drum, as some steel bowls can be rather large depending on their intended function.
Can You Use an Air Fryer with a Glass Bowl?
Glass bowls are normally okay to use in an air fryer, but like with steel bowls, they must be oven-safe.
When glass is not tempered or particularly built to withstand intense heat, it faces the risk of exploding. Even oven-safe glass may not resist temperatures above 425F (or less!). So, before you put it to the test, make sure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Can Pyrex be used in an air fryer?
As previously stated, tempered glass, including Pyrex, is usually safe to use in the oven.
However, keep in mind that Pyrex glass can only resist heat up to 425 degrees F. (or as specified by the manufacturer). As a result, when attempting to heat items in Pyrex glassware, you must be cautious with the heat settings on your air fryer.
Never use an air fryer with a cold glass of any kind. Because of the temperature shift, it is extremely likely to explode.

Can Aluminum Pans Be Used in an Air Fryer?
Aluminum pans and foil are both fine to use in an air fryer. Just make sure to look for the oven-safe symbol on the pan. Remember that checking for oven safety isn’t necessarily about finding things melted or on fire in the oven or air fryer. It is also about preventing toxins from leaching into food, which is typical when many materials (even aluminium!) are heated.
As a result, before putting aluminium or other materials in your air fryer, be sure they are oven safe.
Can You Use an Air Fryer to Cook a Bowl? It all depends on the type!
Overall, whether or not you can put a bowl in the air fryer depends on the type of bowl you’re talking about.
In general, ceramic, glass, aluminium, and steel choices are okay to use in an air fryer as long as they are oven-safe.
Please avoid using plastic and paper in your air fryer to avoid potential melting, fire dangers, and chemical leaching. This will save massive messes and hours of cleanup.
It’s simply not worth it!
