So, to be honest, it’s not likely that I’ll have any leftover French Fries very often. But, in the off chance that I do, I want to make sure that I’m reheating them in the greatest way possible so that they taste as good as they did when they were fresh.
Now comes the important question: what is the best way to reheat French fries? The oven is the greatest way to reheat French fries. Reheat the French fries in the oven at 450°F for 2-3 minutes.
There are various methods for cooking French fries (which I will discuss later), but reheating them in the oven is by far the best.
Many people have dismissed the concept of reheating French fries, believing that once those delectable sticks of potato-y goodness have cooled, they are no longer recoverable. But this is just not the case, my friends. Check out the instructions below and give it a go for yourself. You’ll be glad you gave your French Fries another shot.
What Is the Best Way to Store French Fries Before Reheating Them?
The easiest method to keep French fries is in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator. If you want to preserve even greater freshness, wrap them in aluminum foil ahead of time.
It is preferable if you do this within 2 hours after cooking or purchasing your French fries. Bacteria will begin to develop if they are kept at room temperature for any longer than this. If they are kept at room temperature for more than 2 hours, I recommend throwing them out. If you store your French fries in the refrigerator, they will last 3 to 5 days.

How to Reheat French Fries the Best Way – Steps
As previously said, the best way to reheat French fries is in the oven. If you reheat your French fries in the oven, they will be crisper and more tasty than if you reheat them any other way. Here’s how to go about it:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit for the best results.
Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make sure your baking tray is lined with aluminum foil. This keeps the chips from clinging to the tray.
Step 3: Distribute them
Make sure your fries are evenly distributed on the tray and that none of them overlap. This way, they’ll be warmed evenly, and you’ll be more likely to obtain that delightful crispiness you’re looking for.
Step 4: Season them
This step is not required, but it is highly encouraged.
So, why not season your fries with salt and pepper? If you’re feeling daring, you could also add paprika, garlic powder, oregano, or thyme. Let your hair down.
Step 5: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Check that your oven is set at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the baking sheet in the center of the oven and bake the fries for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn.
Step 6: Shake things up a little.
After 2 to 3 minutes, remove the fries and shake them or turn them over with a spatula. Then return them to the oven for a few more minutes.
Step 7: They’re done! Delicious yum!
When the fries are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the oven. Allow them to cool somewhat before serving, and then enjoy!
Will reheating French fries change their flavor?
It is not the act of reheating French fries that alters their flavor; it is what occurs after they cool down. When French fries cool, all of the water on the inside drains to the outside. This is what causes them to get mushy on the outside while remaining dry and flavorless on the inside.
However, if you follow the procedures above, your French Fries should taste almost as nice as the first time you had them (potentially better if you decided to add spices). However, if you pick another means of warming, such as using a microwave, your French Fries will likely stay mushy in texture and tasteless.
Other Methods for Reheating French Fries
While warming French fries in the oven is the greatest technique to obtain decent results, there are other successful ways to reheat French fries that you should investigate.
Cook them in a Skillet.
That’s correct, you can always re-fry them. To reheat in a shallow pan (a skillet), heat a couple tablespoons of oil in the pan, then spread the chips out evenly and fry for approximately one minute. Then just turn them over with a spatula and cook for another 30 seconds on the other side.
Fry them in a deep skillet.
To cook them in a deep pan, thoroughly immerse your French fries in warmed canola or sunflower oil. Remove them from the oil after 3 to 5 minutes of cooking. Once removed, place them on a paper towel to cool and absorb any extra oil.
Make use of an Air Fryer
Place a couple of handfuls of French fries in the basket and cook for 2 to 3 minutes in the air fryer. Take them out after 2 to 3 minutes and shake them. Return them to the air fryer for another 1 to 2 minutes until thoroughly warmed.
Top Suggestion
Why not make a whole new supper out of them by tossing in some bacon and cheese? Why not slice them up and use them to create hash browns for breakfast? You see, you’ll never have to trash away those leftover French fries again.
