It has a good crispy crunch on the exterior with that distinctive soft doughy core that somehow grows more doughy each time you bite into it, regardless of how many times you’ve ordered this crust before (I’m not sure how this works either).
That said, I can see why some people like this one over others, but I prefer the newer Crispy Crust or even their Stuffed Crust over this one.
However, if you ever go to Pizza Hut at those special moments when they offer the little filled pizza with this crust, you must try it, since my taste senses erupt with delight every time I order one.
- Crunchy Crust
This is a variation of their Hand Tossed crust that has been cooked to perfection, giving it a chewy crunchy core and a crispy exterior.
As for me, this is by far my favorite type of Pizza Hut crust, however if you have lactose intolerance, I would advise against having this or their Stuffed Crust because most lactose sensitive individuals would not be thrilled with either of these being beneath them in their bellies after eating too much.
Also earlier this month, Pizza Hut released an original recipe (whatever that means) Crispy Crust with white pizza toppings, which I really enjoy and will probably eat more of than I should if my family doesn’t stop purchasing it for me.
- Crust with Stuffed Filling
This is simply your Hand Tossed crust wrapped over a deliciously concealed heart of cheese (I suppose this is what it’s like to be in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory).
They have lately begun serving filled crusts on both their original recipe pizzas and their new oven baked pizzas, so there are lots of options to select from, all with varying levels of richness.
In addition, they just introduced bacon to their filled crust range, which adds an extra layer of taste for all you bacon fans out there!
- The Precipice
This pizza crust is essentially what would happen if their Hand Tossed and Stuffed Crusts had a child, which most likely occurs all the time at Pizza Hut’s test kitchens (at least I hope it does).
It boasts the Crunchy Crust’s crispy exterior texture with the extra richness of their filled crust within. If you can’t choose between these two favorites, why not go with this one?
They’ve also been advertising their new oven-baked pizzas as having “The edge,” which gives you that wonderful crunchy-chewy goodness that I adore. Try it out right now!
5. Thin & Crispy
This is essentially their Hand Tossed crust with all of the taste of their oven cooked pizzas, which seems like a terrific concept to me!
If you’re seeking for something crispy and crunchy in the list of Pizza Hut crust varieties but don’t want a thin crust, this could be worth a try because it comes in both cheese and pepperoni tastes (and probably sausage ones too).
Even though there are no loaded crusts in the Thin ‘N Crispy assortment, I’m confident you’ll find something you enjoy if you don’t mind foregoing the heart-stopping cholesterol bump you get every time you bite into one of these bad boys.
6. Hand Tossed Stuffed Crust
This is Pizza Hut’s response to Little Caesars’ “Hot n’ Ready” Stuffed Crust line, which basically means it’s the same as their Stuffed Crust but you can get it Hand Tossed instead of needing to order one of their oven cooked pizzas.
So, if you want to test packed crust but don’t have someone at home who is prepared to wait for your pizza, this alternative may be ideal for you.
This crust is also available on both original recipe and new oven cooked pizzas (and probably even more varieties by now).
- The Hand Tossed Edge
Another variation on the previous entry in this Pizza Hut crust varieties list (and arguably the most unique), it’s basically like combining tossed crust (the crunchy sort) with the delightful cheesy bliss that their Stuffed Crust gives.
I’m not sure if this is part of their oven baked selection or simply another type of filled crust, but you should attempt to get your hands on one anytime for a lovely texture and taste combo.
10 Favorite Seasonal Or Temporary Pizza Hut Crust Types
- Christmas Crust
This is their regular Hand Tossed crust, but with some festive holiday toppings on top (like M&M’s or candy canes), which makes for a really intriguing and delectable experience. They appear to only serve this type of pizza around the holidays, but if they do, why not try it?
I’m not sure whether there are any filled crusts available in this taste, but I’ll keep you posted if anything comes up!
- Pan Pizza with Pepperoni
This pizza combines everything that makes traditional pan pizza so delicious into one glorious experience! You get all the lovely crispy bread from their Hand Tossed and Thin ‘N Crispy crusts, but you also get a beautiful coating of pepperoni on top, which may bring an entirely new level to your next pizza experience.
I’m not sure if this sort of filled crust is available, but it sounds like a pretty fascinating idea that would be worth attempting in the future.
- Triple Delight
This is a seasonal Pie Hut product that mixes three distinct tastes in one pizza to provide an experience unlike any other! You’ll receive their Hand Tossed crust with Cheese Triangles and Cheese Breadsticks topped with Pepperoni and Cheesy Breadstick Dipping Sauce.
The one thing I don’t like about this one is that they market these breadsticks as containing mozzarella cheese, which just seems odd, but I’m sure it’s just a typo.
- Alfredo with Spinach
This is Pizza Hut’s flavor-of-the-month for October 2013, and it has their Oven Baked crust with Alfredo sauce rather than one of their Stuffed Crust options.
If you want to try something new and unusual, this could be worth a shot because it’s probably not too prevalent yet (and therefore probably not well known by most pizza fans.)
- Pizza with a Crazy Cheesy Crust
This one was apparently introduced in 2009 or 2010, and if that’s correct, I must have missed it somehow! Anyway, this is essentially the same as their regular Hand Tossed crust, but with a surprising quantity of cheese on top to create for a pretty unusual treat.
I’m not sure if different types of filled crust are available for this variety, but it’s definitely worth trying someplace at some time!
Brick Oven Pizza with Pepperoni
This is a wonderful variant to their regular pepperoni pizzas in that it has a thin layer of crispy bread underneath instead of the standard doughy version used by most other pizza shops.
It appears that you can get this as both an original recipe and a Thin ‘N Crispy pizza, which is very unusual because both types generally only come with their Stuffed Crust lineup (which would sort of negate the point here), but I guess it’s worth a try if you’re really curious.
Sandwich with Pepperoni Pizza
This one is identical to the Brick Oven version, but instead of thin bread, they use a Hand Tossed crust to mimic both sides of this double-decker delicacy!
It’s really fascinating for them to take a chance with something like this because it could not be well welcomed at first, but I think it might be fairly popular if they properly publicize it and offer people the correct incentives to give it a try.
Pizza Bacon Cheeseburger No. 8
This pizza is difficult to describe, but here’s my take: “This is what happens when you stuff bacon and cheeseburgers into your pizza dough and turn it into a tasty snack.” Granted, it doesn’t taste like a cheeseburger or bacon, but you can tell that those are the key tastes they’re aiming for.”
In any case, I wouldn’t be shocked if this one is also part of their Stuffed Crust portfolio, which means you’ll have a choice between one pretty unusual taste combination.
Pizzasaurus Rex
This pizza was supposedly debuted in 2011 and has Pepperoni chunks as well as detachable limbs, allowing you to eat without getting your hands filthy!
It’s an intriguing concept, and since there doesn’t appear to be much competition for this type of thing, perhaps Pizza Hut will offer additional pizzas with similar qualities in the future.
I’m not sure if they did or not, but that’s something you’ll have to figure out for yourself (assuming you’re into that sort of stuff.)

These appear to be such commonplace dishes that it’s very shocking to see them combined in this manner, but perhaps the creators knew something we didn’t and were right on about what people love eating because it’s accessible as part of their Stuffed Crust assortment.
