When you use shell on prawns and remove the shell before deveining them, you obtain the greatest flavor. I use precooked prawns for this recipe’s convenience. In this dish, I use King or Tiger Prawns.
When using shell on prawns, consider prawns that are firm to the touch in the shell. Prawns that are not firm to the touch are typically not fresh. Prawn Masala Fresh prawns or precooked prawns can be used. If you use precooked shrimp, they will be pink. The rest will be grey.

For the Sides:
Onion Raita Kachumber Salad Storage
Fresh prawns are ideal in prawn dishes. They may be stored in an airtight jar in the fridge for a day or two at most. Reheating prawns normally causes them to become a little harder.

If you need to reheat leftovers, add a splash of water to a skillet and cook them slowly until thoroughly warmed. Prawn Masala Cooked prawns should not be frozen or microwaved.
How to Create the Greatest Prawn Masala?
Base
In this dish, onions are sautéed for a few minutes before tomatoes are added.
The heating of these components with spices gives the curry its true depth of flavor. The foundation of the recipe is what distinguishes it. As a result, make careful to allow the onions to color.
Prawns
I used King Prawns in this recipe. Tiger prawns are also delicious. Tiger prawns, King prawns, or lesser prawns can all be used. Simply adjust the cooking time appropriately.
Yoghurt
In this recipe, you may use Coconut Milk/Coconut Cream instead of Yoghurt if you want. The coconut gives a delightful flavor of its own.
Raw Versus Frozen
You may use either raw or cooked prawns. Both take only a few minutes of cooking time. Depending on their size, raw prawns should be cooked for 4–8 minutes. Prawn Masala Pre-cooked prawns require 3–4 minutes. Overcooking causes them to become rubbery and tough.
Masala
To achieve a smooth curry, mix the Masala after the Tomatoes and Spices have simmered off before putting the prawns back in.
Garam Masala
Curry Powder can be substituted.
Fish
This dish is quite similar to my Masala Fish dish. If you prefer, you may substitute fish.
Milk Made from Coconut
To produce a creamier, more flavorful version, add 1/2 cup creamed coconut or coconut milk near the end of cooking.
Marinade
The prawns do not need to marinate for an extended period of time. It only takes 5 minutes.
You can also utilize them right now.
Lemon
Prawn Masala Before serving, a squeeze of lemon juice helps to bring the flavors together.
